WHY GIVE

Our mission at Hayground is to provide an open, community school where conventional teaching methods are replaced by new ways of teaching and learning.  We are committed to a program of innovation in a community of diversity, both economical and cultural, and our vitality depends on financial health.

A vigorous community fundraising campaign articulates goals and creates a strategy for achieving them. This process energizes a school community and stimulates involvement at all levels. We can best support our mission and accomplish our important educational mission through thoughtful planning and careful stewardship.

In an independent school, voluntary giving closes the gap between the actual annual operating expenses and the income provided by tuition. The annual budget provides operating funds for all aspects of school life, including, but not limited to, teachers’ salaries and benefits, financial aid, general maintenance and supplies, academic programs, extracurricular activities, library acquisitions, routine repairs, and equipment.

Hayground School is grateful for the many ways in which our alumni, parents and friends support our school.  Gifts of all amounts are needed and greatly appreciated.  Please consider the alternatives listed below to ascertain the method of giving most appropriate for your interests so that you may be able to increase the value of your gift to Hayground while securing maximum tax benefits. We thank you for your support.

Hayground School, Inc. is a 501© (3) not-for-profit educational institution.

PROGRAM SUPPORT

Annual Appeal
Each year, the Annual Appeal provides important and significant financial resources to the operating budget, thus supporting day-to-day operations. Contributions to the Annual Appeal are nearly always unrestricted gifts; they are given and spent in the current fiscal year. The Annual Appeal is Hayground School's  on-going fundraising program.

Jeff Salaway Scholarship Fund
The Jeff Salaway Scholarship Fund was established in 2001 by Jeff’s friends and colleagues to make Hayground School even more readily available to the diverse spectrum of East End children.
